Katie Yates joined the Portland Metro Chamber in January 2023 as Communications Coordinator on the Communications team. Katie’s passion for communication is reflected in many ways, including being named Communicator of the Year in her graduating Strategic Communication program at Washington State University Vancouver (2018). She describes herself as a dynamic storyteller and strategist. Having worked in the nonprofit industry, events, architecture and planning, the same value remains true to her: communication is key.
In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking, visiting the farmer’s market, spending time with her family and spoiling her cats, adventuring with friends, and exploring local businesses.
