Learn, connect, and lead in our Chamber committees

Get engaged on the issues most important to you and the business community by participating in Portland Metro Chamber member committees. Committees are open to all members and provide an opportunity for deeper discussion, understanding, and influence in target topics.

Policy Committees

The Chamber’s policy commttees are open to all members. Committee participants have the opportunity to review possible policy proposals for feedback and approval, hear presentations from key community partners on their policy priorities, meet with Chamber allies and stakeholders, and present their own policy ideas for consideration.

Government Relations Executive Committee (GREC)

GREC is the Chamber’s preeminent policy committee, accepting and receiving feedback from other committees and formulating policy recommendations for consideration by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Central City Standing Committee

This committee considers public policy proposals related to downtown vibrancy, economic development, and livability.

Land Use and Housing Committee

This committee reviews public policy proposals related to a broad range of local and regional land use and development issues.

Transportation and Economic Development Committee

This committee evaluates public policy proposals related to transportation topics including freight mobility, transit, infrastructure projects, policies and funding.

Small Business Council

This committee serves as a forum for small business members to hear from and engage with government agencies regarding new programs and policies.

Education and Career Readiness Committee

This committee examines public policy proposals related to all levels of education continuum, with a focus on K-12, CTE/STEM, post-secondary, and workforce development.

Technology and Innovation Committee

This committee provides feedback on public policy proposals impacting the region’s thriving technology sector.

Event and Member Interest Committees

These committees focus on topics outside of policy. Again, participation on these committees is available to all Chamber members.

A Place with No Ceiling Committee

This committee plans and executes an annual PMC event honoring women and companies breaking the glass ceiling.

Marketing and Communications Committee

This committee provides access to regional media, and serves as a space to share resources. Members should be communications professionals.

Downtown Retail Council

This committee supports current and prospective retailers in downtown Portland and engages with elected leaders. Members must be downtown restaurateurs, hoteliers, or retailers.

Leadership Portland Alumni Association Leadership Committee

The Leadership Portland Alumni Association organizes ongoing networking and educational opportunities for current and former program participants.

Leadership Portland Alumni Association is led by an elected volunteer committee of former program participants.

Emerging Professionals of Portland Leadership Committee
