This position plays a key role in developing and executing effective media relations strategies for the Portland Business Alliance and affiliated organizations. This position will support the EVP of Public Affairs in managing media relationships, creating public affairs materials, and preparing press communications. The Media Relations Manager is expected to be a strategic thought partner while building productive connections with news media and advancing the organization’s public affairs priorities.

The Portland Metro Chamber (Chamber) and Downtown Portland Clean & Safe (DPCS) are hiring a professional to identify, track and develop policies impacting the business community and that support the mission’s of each organization. The role of the Director for Public Affairs will serve as the primary advocate interacting with and developing collaborative relationships with elected and government officials at all levels, and advancing the public affairs priorities of the Chamber and DPCS affiliates.
