The annual Best Practices trip convenes public-sector officials, private-sector business executives, and civic leaders to explore how other cities function. With an emphasis on comparative economic development strategies, transportation systems, and education/workforce development models, the Best Practices trip is designed to help Portland align around proven, best-in-class solutions for robust, equitable growth.
For 25 years, civic icon Randy Miller has led delegations from Portland to other cities in the United States (and around the world) to learn best practices in urban and economic development. Randy is now partnering with the Portland Metro Chamber and Greater Portland, Inc. to organize these trips.
