Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver BC advocate together on DC Fly-In

April 2026

From April 21-24, 2026 our 100+ person Cascadia delegation joined partners from Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. for our annual Washington D.C. Fly-In. Trip participants met with U.S. federal legislators, Senate and House committee staff, the Washington State Department of Transportation, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dzung, among others.

This annual advocacy trip facilitates building stronger relationships across the Pacific Northwest’s business leaders, elected representatives, and civic champions as we advocate together for the shared needs of the Cascadia mega-region. This trip also serves as a catalyst for collaboration and action, helping shape the future for all three cities of the greater Cascadia region.

The Portland Metro Chamber and Seattle Metro Chamber share advocacy priorities for addressing policy and funding challenges in the two largest urban centers in the Pacific Northwest. We also share these priorities with our Cascadia Innovation Corridor partner, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade.

Our top federal priorities are:

  • Keep commerce and people moving safely in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Maintain federal commitments to community health, education, childcare, public safety, parks, forests, housing, and research.
  • Increase access to affordable housing and homeless services.
  • Support and maintain access to global markets.
  • Modernize the nation’s energy transmission infrastructure to meet the needs of the 21st century global economy.
  • Modernize forest and wildfire management.
  • Keep our economies strong by:
    • Pro-growth tax policies
    • Permitting and regulatory reform
    • Support future workforce needs
  • Continue to address the fentanyl and opioid addiction crises.

With everything happening in the world right now, standing together in partnership for our shared priorities matters more than ever.

Thank you to all the elected officials and administration representatives who agreed to meet with us and to the Canadian Embassy who generously hosted our delegation plus friends from the Spokane region.
