Tell us a little bit about your company

Skaut Coffee Roasters started as a COVID-19 pivot from my other business, Pips & Bounce, that was temporarily shut down. I had the opportunity to work at a large Amazon fulfillment center at the beginning of the pandemic and discovered, from all the thousands of Amazon orders, the two most purchased items were coffee and pet food. That knowledge got my entrepreneur mind thinking; I like making coffee, but I don’t like making pet food. With all the free time I had in my hands, I bought myself a small drum coffee roaster and with some trial and error, learned the art of roasting my own beans.

What do you love most about your business?

I enjoy the freedom and process of how I want to roast my own coffee. There are so many ways to approach roasting coffee and once you discover a great roast, it is immensely satisfying and fulfilling.
