Since 2012, the Portland Metro Chamber has hosted A Place With No Ceiling, an annual gathering to recognize outstanding accomplishments by women business leaders, as well as organizations that champion women’s success. This event brings together hundreds of Portland area women professionals for networking, mentorship, and community-building.

Today, the Chamber is pleased to announce the honorees who will be recognized at the next A Place With No Ceiling event, coming up October 3, 2024 at Portland’s Providence Park.

The Sandra K. McDonough Leadership Award, is given to a woman business leader, based on their organizational vision, mentorship and support of other women in the business community, and overall level of community engagement.

Suzanne Nance
President & CEO
All Classical Radio

Since taking the reins of All Classical Radio in 2017, Suzanne Nance has turned the network into a statewide radio powerhouse. Under her leadership, All Classical launched The International Children’s Arts Network to increase access to the arts for younger listeners, as well as The Recording Inclusivity Initiative, dedicated to recording works by composers historically underrepresented in classical music. Company Awards

Company awards are decided based on programs and activities in place that foster the advancement of women. The awards committee examines how this is demonstrated in the organizational chart and/or reflected in the make-up of the company’s board of directors, as well as how the company is seen as a corporate culture changer in the community.

Portland Timbers

The Timbers have prioritized leadership training opportunities for women–particularly BIPOC women–while also putting into place practices to ensure pay equity across the organization. In January 2023, the Portland Timbers appointed Heather Davis as the Chief Executive Officer, making her one of only five women in the MLS to oversee club business operations.
